LinkedIn Spearfish Marketing Content + Process = Engaged Prospects

spearfishSpearfish Marketing is a term Social Sales Link uses for targeted prospecting campaigns. Marketing strategies are very different from our client and networking business development techniques, but are very effective in their own right.

Connecting with your target market on LinkedIn is ideal for sales professionals, but without sending mass connection requests to strangers or paying for dozens of inMails, getting your message into the inbox of the decision maker can be a challenge.

One of the major benefits of LinkedIn Groups is the ability to message other members even when you aren’t connected to them directly. The obstacle typically is that there are hundreds or even thousands of group members, and it can be difficult finding the right decision makers and influencers to message.

Here is an easy to follow process to find the right people in your groups and message them directly.

Process:

  1. Split screens (two browser screens open side by side) with Advanced Search open in one and the Group your are working in the other.advanced people search
  2. Complete your search filters in the advanced search screen and than check the Group your are working in on the right hand side and search. You will get a list of all the people that meet your criteria that are members of this group in a list.
  3. From the Group screen click on Member Tab under the Group name.
  4. Copy the name of the group member from the list and paste it in member tab’s search box.
  5. Click Send message below their name i.e.: NAME, We both share the XXX group and I thought I would reach out and introduce myself. As a (THEIR POSITION) I wanted to share with you a blog on XXX that I thought it might offer some insights (PASTE BLOG LINK). I invite you to connect with me on LinkedIn as well.   6. Tag as Spearfished CLICK HERE TO LEARN HOW
  7. Repeat
  8. When they connect reply with another note: NAME, It is nice to be connected, typically I like to have a brief call with my new connections to explore ways we might be able to help each other out. I have Monday morning and Thursday afternoon available for a call, please let me know what works best for you.

These simple steps can get your content into the inbox of 20, 30,40 even 50 targeted prospects – in under 30 minutes a day. Be sure to look at “Who’s Viewed Your Profile”, as these professionals will inevitably be checking you out!
